Life throws all kinds of balls at us and it is upon us to be able to catch them all or handle the situation deftly. For example, when you have to relocate, for whatever reasons whether financial, new opportunities, better place to live, for family or children or for better adventures and experiences, it can sure be a daunting task to shift bags and baggage to a new place. The physical and materialistic things can be handled by professionals. But what about the friends you made, or your life companions, such as your pets. We humans are capable of taking care of ourselves but how can you relocate pets, especially to another country altogether.

This must be no reason to fret as now there are pet transport services to assist with relocating your pet with the utmost care and safety. However, there are a few things you need to consider when planning to relocate your beloved pet.

Things to prepare for while relocating your pet

Whether you are relocating within the country or out of it, there are professionals who will help you with their interstate pet transport or international transport services. But you must consider the following:

  • Health regulations
  • Crate sizes for your pet
  • Making the relocation journey comfortable for your pet

For health regulations before the transport of the pet you must make sure that the pet has been recently vaccinated. Also, if the pet is very young, care should be taken that it is not fed at least for 12 hours prior to the time of travel. Also, they must be exercised before putting them in the crate.

The crate sizes include measuring the exact length, height and width of the pet such that the crate is provided to those measurements, else the pet would have to suffer from suffocating space with no place to move around. While measuring the length of the pet, measure from the tip of the nose to the tip of the rump. This must be measured in a straight line. Also, the tail must not be included while measuring the length. The height of the pet is measured from the floor to the top of the head while the pet is standing. While measuring, the pet’s ears must also be included in the height. The width of the pet is measured across the shoulders. The width will give an indication of the gap that must be left in the crate for the pet to move around with ease. Another requirement for the crate is to provide the exact weight of the pet.

Considering the safety and comfort of the pet will make the travel easy for the pet and for you.
